The existing building on the uphill side of Thalwil station will be replaced by a new building. The excavation pit, the directly adjacent building and the retaining wall to the SBB facility will be monitored automatically. This will ensure that the existing structure behaves within the expected movements due to the excavation work. Continuous measurement allows sudden changes to be detected and countermeasures to be taken. This is particularly important for the heavily used SBB line between Zurich and Wädenswil.

During the extension of the CERN tunnel, the SIGN network was allowed to carry out various monitoring measurements. The various sensors such as extensometers, load cells, crack gauges, strain gauges were linked with convergence measurements and summarized and evaluated in the web platform.
CERN, Genf
A rockfall-prone area of the Averserstrasse in the Starlera area was monitored during one year. The monitoring was carried out with tachymetric single measurements as well as with an automatic GNSS monitoring. The results were made available to the responsible persons in real time on the GEOvis web portal. In May 2022, the unstable areas were removed by blasting.
Averse Street Ferrera, GR
A large-scale, very active landslide is underway in Brienz. The rock above the village is monitored by tachymetric monitoring. Since the installation of the rock monitoring, the movement from the village has accelerated. Therefore, since 2018, the village and surrounding areas have been monitored using GNSS monitoring. In 2022, a tunnel was built to drain the landslide mass.

The Chienberg tunnel is located in the mountains. Hundreds of anchors were installed to keep the structure stable. Around 100 anchors are automatically monitored for structure maintenance. The existing anchor forces are recorded hourly by load cells and automatically visualized.

Our team worked hard before the Christmas break to install 215m of Track Control system in Palézieux for the SBB. The installation took place on three different sectors separated by several hundred meters. Finally this 215m of tracks that are installed to monitor deformation caused by a landslide.

In Lausanne, SBB is expanding capacity by converting and extending the tracks and platforms. Thanks to automated monitoring of rail infrastructure, with inclinometer chains on the tracks as well as inclination, crack and vibration sensors, the construction work is being carried out largely without interruptions.
